How much does a Web Site cost?
Exceedion takes a custom approach to each of our client’s individual Indianapolis Web Design needs. Our sales strategists meet with each client to determine the requirements of their project. We then take that information and create a proposal specific to each client’s needs. We use a formula to calculate the project cost based on the number of pages to be developed, the technologies involved and any other project specific requirements. The project cost is a fixed cost based on a detailed project scope document. The project cost is divided into several equal payments.
What do I need to get started?
Signed Agreement & Initial Payment:
In order to determine the project scope and cost Exceedion will need some detailed information about your Indianapolis Web Design project such as a site map, your goals, your target audience, etc. Once that information is gathered Exceedion will provide you with a proposal and a service agreement. Exceedion requires a signed service agreement and the initial payment outlined in the service agreement to begin work.

Domain Name:
You will also need a domain name or Web Site address. The registration of domain names is provided by many third party vendors. Typically domain names need to be renewed on a yearly basis. The pricing for a domain name can range anywhere from free with a hosting package up to $30 per year. If you do not already have a domain name Exceedion can assist you in securing one for your

Web Site. Hosting:
You will also need a Web Site host. Web site hosting is provided by many third party vendors. A hosting company is required to store your Web Site files and make them available when someone types in your domain name. The web files stored at your hosting company comprise and produce your Web Site when viewed through a web browser such as Internet Explorer. Each client’s Web Site will have specific requirements that the web hosting vendor of your choice will need to support. Exceedion can help you determine those requirements and provide you with a list of potential hosting solutions to meet your needs. If needed Exceedion can also set up and configure your Web Site with your hosting vendor.

Content:
Finally, you will need content for your Web Site. Web site content usually consists of text and images. Based on your site map or the site map presented in your proposal you can begin to organize your content. Exceedion asks that all content is provided in electronic format and be clearly labeled as to its placement. Text can be provided in DOC, TXT, selectable PDF or e-mail formats. Images can be provided in JPG, GIF, BMP and TIF formats.
How long does it take from start to finish?
Based on the scope of your project Exceedion will provide an estimated completion date in the service agreement. It will be up to the client to provide all materials to Exceedion on their deliverable dates, provided by Exceedion, to meet the estimated completion date. Client deliverable delays are common and Exceedion will work expeditiously to complete the project as the content is received. Such delays may effect the estimated completion date set forth in the service agreement.
What are the payment terms?
Exceedion will provide the fixed project cost in the service agreement. The fixed project cost, or project total, includes all work outlined in the proposal attached along with the service agreement. The total project cost is divided into several equal payments over the span of project development. Exceedion requires an initial payment (usually 1/3 of the project total) to begin work. Subsequent payments are due upon completion of agreed upon project milestones as outlined in the service agreement.

Any additional work that may come up during the project development phase will be billed as out of scope work. All out of scope work requires a signed authorization of work form, provided by Exceedion, outlining the scope, the cost and the payment terms for any additional work.
What about ongoing Website maintenance?
There are a variety of ways to handle content updates and maintenance. Traditional HTML updates can be requested and preformed as needed throughout the month. Exceedion will invoice (net 30 days) the client for all work performed within the month on the last day of that month. Alternatively, a content management system can be developed by Exceedion allowing the client to perform updates through a browser based simple to use administration system. Content management systems require more up front development cost but can be reduce cost over a period of time. Exceedion will work with your team to determine what solution is right for your project.
